Regulatory concerns aside, how do consumers really feel about cybersecurity and privacy risks? In their opinion are companies doing enough to protect their personal information? Do they believe they are in control of their data? How can companies go about earning public trust? Companies must do a better job of protecting customer data while respecting individual privacy. This requires a culture transformation to shift thinking from monetization of data to prioritization of becoming responsible stewards of the most valuable asset in today's marketplace: data.
