Career Benefits and Pathways of Cybersecurity Apprenticeships
Information Security Careers
About
Session Abstract: Registered Apprenticeship is an industry-driven, high-quality, career pathway where individuals can obtain paid work experience, classroom instruction, and a portable, nationally-recognized credential. This session explores many paths using cybersecurity apprenticeships to include high school and secondary education students, career upskilling, transitioning military members and others. These pathways are especially critical in underserved communities, where there are often limited opportunities to gain career exposure and digital literacy at early ages. Session participants will learn the benefits of this hands-on experience in a highly-sought career field, what types of certifications you may receive upon completion, and what apprenticeship assistance is available nationwide.

Summary: Identify available apprenticeship pathways in a cybersecurity career field to include education students, upskilling, reskilling, and transitioning military members. Understand the value of why to engage in these opportunities and the benefits of the experience for both employers and employees.
