Benefits of Legal and CISOs Uniting in a Post-Uber and Twitter World
Information Security Management
About
Session Abstract: The recent criminal conviction of Uber’s former CISO and the fallout from a Twitter InfoSec whistleblower highlight cracks in the relationships between groups that share the common goal of better security. The “culture of fear” that has developed in CISO offices nationwide has dramatically increased risk for companies that have such a culture. To counter this fear, Andrea Hoy, Ron Raether, and Edgar Vargas will explore how organizations can better support their CISOs and how the general counsel and outside counsel can help influence change in organizations for better governance and cyber risk management.

Summary: The presentation will provide participants with the knowledge and practical guidance on how GCs and CISOs can work together for better governance and cyber risk management.
