Josh is the Texas Dept of Licensing & Regulation Chief Information Security Officer. With Six years U.S.M.C. and 23 years State Service, he has diverse experience in physical & information security, IT management & governance, budgeting, regulatory compliance, legislative analysis, controls auditing, contracting & procurements, and risk management. He earned his degree in criminal justice and (ISC)2 CISSP in 2012. During his State service Josh has worked in a variety of agencies including: • 8 years with Texas Dept of Public Safety managing the statewide Texas Law Enforcement Telecommunications System satellite network. • 3 years with Texas Juvenile Justice Dept as their first Information Security Officer, creating their security program. • 6 years with Texas Dept of Motor Vehicles as their first Information Security Officer, creating their security program while separating from TxDOT. Josh has also served as interim Chief Information Officer and interim Project Management Office Director when those positions experienced unexpected vacancy. • 4 years with Texas Workforce Commission as the Chief Information Security Officer building that program and separating the Security Team from IT.
