The concept of Integrated Diversified Energy Parks introduces the Energy Citadel as a robust strategy to harden vital infrastructure against cyberattacks and sabotage, as wellas natural disasters. Inspired by military doctrine for securing bases, Energy Citadels establish decentralized, self-sufficient energy hubs integrating energy generation and production systems to serve. This conceptual model ensures operational continuity for critical facilities, reduces reliance on vulnerable transmission networks, and fosters national security. A planned demonstration of the concept in Alabama will be discussed as an illustration of the modernization America’s energy landscape, mitigating emerging threats, and creating a replicable framework for resilient power infrastructure.
