The A.I. 'Big Shift' and Cybersec Careers: What’s Coming, How To Navigate It
About

Does InfoSec World need a session on career advice from an industry analyst? It does if members are wondering how AI is reshaping and reshuffling IT and cybersecurity jobs, careers, and the entire enterprise tech workforces. We call it The Big Shift---tectonic changes sweeping through the workplace, driven by new A.I. technologies. It’s the fourth major industrial revolution. This session focuses on five A.I.-driven “shifts” disrupting the tech workforce:

--Massive generational workforce shifts as Gen Z and Millennials assume greater prominence, each contributing unique work attributes in the AI revolution but also presenting management challenges including different workstyles, learning styles, and values.

--A.I. jobs shifts—much more so than job replacements---as ‘Humans with AI’ increasingly replace ‘Humans without AI’.

--High volatility in shifting tech skills supply/demand and cash market value as AI organically(and wildly) evolves.

--The new emphasis on soft skills as critical components of an effective AI-shaped workforce.

--Shifts in technology investments that impact everything above.

Attendees will learn about brand new security job and career opportunities that the AI revolution will make possible as it unfolds over the next five years and how to navigate them. Also how existing roles are being reshaped and redefined by AI, and how short the timeline really is to capitalize on it all if you’re aggressive about you career planning. The session will examine why AI’s potential to bring positive change in employment (productivity, innovation, etc.) will outweigh broadly felt fear and uncertainty about the enterprise workforce. The session will provide a detailed blueprint for attendees to follow using the five shifts as a baseline

This session draws from proprietary Foote Partners analysis, forecasts, and data on pay, skills supply/demand forecasts, and career prospects in this new AI universe gathered from a research partnership network of 4,500 private and public sector US and Canadian employers.
