Michael F. Angelo, is a Distinguished Technologist at Open Text. Formerly he was the Chief Security Architect for the Cybersecurity division of Micro Focus.Michael has designed, developed, and deployed security products and architectures in multi-national corporate environments for over forty years. This includes over thirty years participating, driving, and creating security standards and working on corporate policy, national /international legislation, and multi-national regulatory issues.Michael is active in the security community and participates in numerous international and national advisory councils. He has chaired the ISSA International Webinar Committee, is a technology contributor to the BIS ISTAC and has been the co-chair of a working group striving to change the current security export regulations. Michael has been on the RSA international symposia committee from 2012 to 2025. He has also been a speaker at national and international security conferences, including RSA, ISSA, ISC2 and InfoSec.Michael currently holds 88 U.S. patents, the majority being in the area of security; Additional honors include being a former Sigma-Xi distinguished lecturer, and TCPA achievement recipient. He was recognized by ISSA as the Security Professional of the Year (2011); he was added to the ISSA Hall of Fame (2013); he is also a named ISSA Distinguished Fellow.In his day job Michael is responsible for overseeing the Cybersecurity product group of Open Text. This includes defining and deploying (an ever evolving) SDLC, measuring its progress, creating all documentation for over two dozen Common Criteria certifications.
