Dr. Domingo A. Castillo serves as the Chief Information Security Officer and an adjunct professor at Miami Dade College (MDC). Established in 1959, MDC is the second-largest college or university in the United States and leads in associate degrees awarded in Liberal Arts and Sciences, General Studies, and Humanities.
Before joining MDC, Dr. Castillo held key leadership roles, including Chief Information Security Officer at the University of Arkansas (UofA) in Fayetteville, an institution recognized by the Carnegie Foundation for its high level of research activity. Before that, he was the Regional Information Security and Compliance Officer at Chubb, where he successfully designed and managed cost-effective security solutions to protect the company’s information assets across its Latin America division.
Dr. Castillo is deeply committed to community service and leadership and is an active board member of several nonprofit organizations dedicated to supporting and empowering local community members. His work in these organizations reflects his passion for education, mentorship, and cybersecurity advocacy.
Dr. Castillo holds an Executive Doctorate in Business Administration specializing in Information Security from St. Thomas University. He has also earned a Juris Master in Cybersecurity and Privacy Law from Florida State University (FSU), a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) from Nova Southeastern University, and Master’s degrees in Project Management (MPM) and Public Administration (MPA) from Keller Graduate School of Management, DeVry University.
He also holds multiple industry-recognized certifications, including Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Project Management Professional (PMP), and CompTIA Security+. Through his leadership in cybersecurity, education, and community engagement, Dr. Castillo continues to make a lasting impact in both industry and society.
