Jeffrey Baez is a cybersecurity executive and advisor focused on helping organizations modernize security operations, improve visibility, and align cyber strategy to business outcomes. Before joining Splunk, Jeffrey served as the first CISO for the New York State Department of Financial Services, and later the first CISO for the New York State Board of Elections. During his tenure, he helped ratify a governance charter establishing the Secure Elections Center, led a series of statewide tabletop exercises, and has spoken at numerous conferences including the National Cybersecurity Summit and annual MS-ISAC Conference. He works at the intersection of security, observability, governance, and emerging technologies, with particular interest in how organizations can adopt AI-enabled capabilities responsibly. Jeffrey brings an executive-friendly and practitioner-grounded perspective to topics such as threat detection, threat hunting, operational resilience, monitoring strategy, automated response, and secure innovation.
